Burns Fatal to Mrs. P.P. Hindman
Paris Woman Suffers Burns After Mattress Catches Fire at Home
Mrs. P.P. Hindman, about 50, died at 7:50 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, of burns suffered Friday night when she woke shortly after 11 o'clock by fire of undetermined cause in her bedroom, the mattress being ablaze. She reached for the telephone beside the bed and called the fire department. The call was traced to her address, 3305 Bonham Street and both fire apparatus and an ambulance were sent there.

Manton Fry Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the funeral, which awaited word from Mrs. Hindman's only son, Flight Officer H.M. (Pete) Hindman, with a Ferry Command unit in Cairo, Egypt. The Red Cross was attempting to reach him there. His wife, living in Norman, Oklahoma, was expected to arrive here Saturday night, as was a brother of Mrs. Hindman, Frank Golden of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Mrs. Hindman, widow of "Pink" Hindman, Paris automobile salesman who died in May, 1942, was formerly Miss Mattie Elizabeth Golden, and had lived here a number of years. She was alone in the house when wakened by the fire.

Only slight damage resulted from the blaze which was quickly extinguished.
