Charles A. Braatz, 80, of RD 5 died in Jameson Memorial Hospital at 7:05 a.m. on February 22, 1963. He had been in failing health.

Charles was born in New Castle PA, the son of Herman Braatz and Helen List. He married Nettie Gaston on October 26, 1904 in Lawrence County PA. He was the father of of four daughters, Virginia (John) Reiber, Bertha Smith, Frances (Ralph) Strealy and Elizabeth Braatz.

In the community Charles was a retired farmer and a member of the East Brook Methodist Church.

He was survived by his four daughters; a sister Mrs. Bertha Higgins; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Braatz who died in 1931; three brothers, William G, Herman A. and Frank Braatz.
