Bruce Robert Adams, resident of Ponca City, died on November 21, 2018 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 76 years old. Bruce was born on January 4, 1942 in Enid, Oklahoma to Jack and Thelma Adams. He grew up in Lamont and graduated from Lamont High School in 1960. In July of 1960, Bruce joined the United States Army and served in the reserves through June of 1966. Bruce married Georgianna Moore on September 21, 1962 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After marriage, Bruce worked in the oilfield and owned a service station in Lamont. Later, he became the Under Sheriff of Grant County and then in 1972 joined the Ponca City Police Department. In the spring of 1974, Bruce was chosen as outstanding policeman of the year. From May 1978 until 1983, Bruce was a detective for the police department. In January 1983, he took a medical retirement. A few years later, Bruce became Supervisor for the Security Department at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. For the past several years, Bruce has been a private process server and had his own Private Investigative Agency.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Georgianna of Ponca City, son, Curtis Adams and wife, Staci of Ponca City, two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Jase Caughlin of Ponca City, two daughters, Keri Nicholas and husband, Gary of Ponca City, and Andre Crowe and husband, Lance of Ponca City, grandchildren, Chad Caughlin, Amanda Forguson, Meagan Adams, Lauren Cremers, Logan Campbell, Adam Nicholas, and Amy Nicholas, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Kirby.

A funeral ceremony for Bruce will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Woodlands Christian Church in Ponca City. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Lamont Cemetery. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.
