He was christened on 12 November 1865 in Kleinsachsenheim. Fritz had immigrated about 1887 and his father followed about 1890 living with Fritz's sister, Mary Lee, in 1910. Fritz married Maria Ziegler on 2 July 1891 in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, and they had 9 children with 6 surviving: Frederick (1894), Anna (1896), Carrie (1897), John (1901), Henry (1902-1924), Karl (1906), Clara Louise (1907-1907), and George (1908-1908) all born in Michigan. Fritz was a brewer. In 1900, the family was in Blackman Township of Jackson County, Michigan with Fritz's and Anna's and Carrie's names illegible in the index.
