Mary Charlotte Goth Young Obituary
On Sunday, October 13th, 2019, with the full moon rising, Mary Charlotte Goth Young passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. The rain came down as soon as she passed. She was 96 years young. Mary was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY to loving parents, George and Hattie May Goth. She was the third oldest child in a loving family of nine children. She spent much of her childhood with her family in the Catskill Mountains. An honors student, Mary went on to attend Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA, where she met her beloved, life-long husband, Victor Howard Young, MD. Mary was a doting mother to her children, Lyndsey, Deborah, and Stephen, and enjoyed raising them in Canton, CT. Mary worked hard to have a very successful career in real estate, becoming one of Connecticut's top realtors. Mary was incredibly generous and a true giver in life. She was a great cook, loved gardening and listening to music, enjoyed cards and was affable with any person she met. We will miss her beautiful heart, generous spirit, humble kindness, and deep wisdom. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Victor and daughter Lyndsey. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Tribble of Danville, VA, her son Stephen of Hyde Park, NY, beloved grandchildren, Bambi, Heidi, Abigail, Clifford, and Christopher, her sister and brother-in-law, Janice & Jack Helmer, her brother, Franklin Goth, and many other loving family members. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a family cabin in the Catskill Mountains on Saturday, October 19th starting at 2pm.
