EDGERTON— Lawrence Eugene Bailey, Sr., 63, of Edgerton, left us on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 28, 1944 in Highland Park, IL, to the late Ronald and Dorothea (Hess) Bailey. He married Karen Mattrisch (Ganzow) of Whitewater on April 24, 1982. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend spent a lifetime giving of himself. He graduated from Whitewater High School, class of 1962. He proudly served in the Air Force from April 1963 to April 1967. He was an electrician, owning his own business for 28 years and also worked for the Fort Atkinson School District for 12 years. His quick wit and loving heart always left a warm feeling with others. A wry smile, a gentle hug, a kind word will be sadly missed but will forever live on in those fortunate enough to have known Larry and have been touched by his life. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Karen of 25 years; daughters, Deborah (Jeff) Zingshiem and Laura (Ken) Peche; son, Larry Jr (Gail) Bailey; stepsons: David (Michele) Mattrisch, Daniel (Betty-Jo) Mattrisch and Donald Mattrisch; stepdaughter, Dawn (Scott) Borchardt; grandchildren, Sarah, Chelsie, Bryce, Maxwell, Molly, Jessica, Ryan, Brianna and Kaitlyn; great- granddaughter, Callie; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jen; brother, Ronald Red ; and grandson, Nathan Mattrisch. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at GRACE Baptist Church in Newville, with Pastor Chuck Shaw officiating. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson and from 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church until time of service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the church.
