Doris Swain Rushing, age 86, passed away Tuesday October 15, 2019 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Seymour with Dr David Warren, pastor officiating.
Interment followed in the Henson Cemetery in Red Springs, Texas under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Doris was born December 17, 1932 in Seymour, Texas to Ross V. and Mattie Leona Henson Sessions. She married Clifton Swain on June 4, 1951 in Seymour, Texas. He preceded he in death on May 27, 1981. She later married L. V. "Buck" Rushing on May 1, 1987 in Seymour, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2005. She worked for Baylor County serving as District and County Clerk from January, 1987, until her retirement on December 31, 2002. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seymour.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky Giddens and husband Randy, and a son Joey Swain; one sister, Joye Walling and husband Tommy; Her grandchildren, Timothy Carpenter. Casey Swain and wife Courtney, Larrry Giddens, Luke Giddens, John Leven and James Leven, and by eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Clifton and Buck; five brothers and one sister, and a grandson, Cody Ross Swain on December 10, 2006.
