Anna M. Valachovic, 88, of Rotterdam, was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Mary H. (Hall) Young, and was the widow of Joseph F. Valachovic, who passed away in 1999. Anne graduated from Draper High School (class of 1939) and Albany Business College, and worked in various capacities at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in 1980.

She was an active member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church and a member of the choir and Rosary Society until the church's closure and then became a communicant of St. Luke's Church. While her sons were growing up, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was active in the Rotterdam Fire District 3 Auxiliary Squad and a member of their bowling team. She also coordinated the Rotterdam Senior Center Bingo for several years.

She is survived by three children; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her sisters, Dorothy Young and Fern Austin , predeceased her.
