November 5, 2003 Rosario "Roy" Buccina, 82, of Syracuse, died Wednesday at his home. Rosario was born in Syracuse and a life resident of the area. He retired from Sheet Metal Union Local 58 after working for 45 years as licensed welder. He was a Communicantof St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Italian American War Veterans of the US John Vendetti Post #1. He was also a US Army Veteran of WWII. Survivors: his wife of 46 years, Carmella Villelli; a daughter, Vittoria Didio of Baldwinsville; two sons, Vito F. Buccina of Syracuse and Rosario T. Buccina of N. Syracuse; sisters, Julia Palmer, Barbara Veccherino, Jennie DeCarr; brothers, Anthony and Vito Buccina, both of Syracuse; and seven grandchildren, Mercedes, Deanna, David Didio, Chanel, Chloe Buccina, Francesca and Giovanna Buccina; also a daughter from a previous marriage, Carolyn Buccina of Florida. Funeral services Saturday 8:30 a.m. from FARONE & SON, and 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
