Joseph “Joe” Robert Weikert, age 88, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 20th, 2019.

He was born in Dubois, Indiana on June 13th, 1931 to John W. and Elizabeth (Nolan) Weikert, the oldest of 8 children.

Joe married Katy Mitchell on April 10th, 2011 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st Wife – Patricia Newland, (2) Brothers – James and George Weikert and (1) Sister – Annabelle Beck.

Joe was a graduate of Dubois High School Class of 1949, a member of the Red Quarry Christian Church and attended the Mitchell Wesleyan Church in Mitchell, Indiana with his wife Katy. He supported Katy in all her many endeavors and was well known for his strong work ethic. He loved the outdoors, working in his flower beds, maintaining the farm or clearing snow in the winter. Joe rarely sat down to take a break. He enjoyed photography, had a vast knowledge of nature, and had a servant’s heart but most of all, loved his family dearly.

He was an Electronic Technician at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division for over 30 years and served his country proudly during the Vietnam and Korean Wars in the United States Navy.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
The Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Bro. Joe Crow and Rev. Darrel Land at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana. Burial will follow in the Crystal Community Cemetery.

VISITATION
Friends may call on Thursday, October 24th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Crystal Community Cemetery, C/O Melvin Jones, 9097 N 900 E, Dubois, Indiana 47527.
