Raymond Edward Anderson was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on December 19, 1914, the son of Charles S. Anderson and Etta Erickson Anderson. Ray was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Deer Park. In 1937 he was united in marriage to Pearl Ness and to this union three children were born.

He was later united in marriage to Lucille Murphy on August 25, 1977 in Grantsburg. Following Lucille's death in 1987, he was married to Katherine Fansler. Ray spent most of his life living in the Amery and Deer Park areas.

Ray served as postmaster in Deer Park from 1960 to 1976. He also worked for Sterling Industries, Strand Ski Factory, Central Lumber and Doboy Industries at the Feed Mill during his lifetime. Ray died at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center on Thursday, October 26th at the age of 74 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, his brother Clifford, a grandson Craig and a great-grandson Mitchell.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Katherine of Deer Park, his sons Raymond Jr. of New Richmond, Charles of New Richmond, step-sons Duane Fansler of Fox Creek and Donald Fansler of Deer Park. He also leaves his daughter Audrey, Mrs. Larry DeTar of Deer Park, step-daughter Diane Fansler-Wald of Edina, Minn., his brother Lloyd of New Richmond, his sisters Irene Seielstad of New Richmond and Shirley Pritchard of Frederick, Maryland as well as six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends
