H.L. was a loving and devoted son, the youngest of the ten children of Harley Lucian Hall, Sr. and Lena Flora Peoples. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Nadine Wanda Naylor. They had one son, Steven Allen Hall. Harley was preceded in death by his wife and son.

Harley Lucien Hall, Jr. age 85, of Mayflower, died Sunday, February 6, 2005.

Born October 18, 1919, the youngest of ten children of Harley and Lena Peeples Hall, at Austin, AR. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Naylor Hall, son Steve Hall, sisters: Lottie Robertson, Irene Hall, Edna Schwarz and Christine Sanders, and three borthers; Will Hall, Homer Hall and Ivan Hall.

Harley is survived by his sister Amy Hall Bourdeau of Santa Cruz, CA., brother, O'Neal Hall of Sylmar, CA Step-daughter, Suzanne McLemore Rogers and husband Jerry of Conway, AR., and her three children; Brad Rogers of Louisiana, Chad Rogers of Dallas, TX and Shawn Rogers Rackley of Conway. Six nieces and three nephews also survive him.

Harley served on several US Navy ships during WW II in the South Pacific, including The Lexington. He survived a Japanese Zero Kamikaze attack on one of his duty ships. Asked why he chose the Navy, he said, "Well I am 6'3" and I figured not many foxholes would work for me." Retired from the VA Hospital in North Little Rock, after 32 years of service, he enjoyed retirement, and tending his garden. He is a past Mayflower school board president, and was a long time deacon at First Baptist Church in Mayflower. He is past chairman of Mayflower Cemetery Board.

Services for Harley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Griffin Leggett - Conway Chapel with Rev. Ken Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Mayflower Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday night in the Garden Room of the funeral home.

The family thanks his many caring friends at Heritage Living Center and the medical staff at Conway Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist of Mayflower Building Fund or a church or charity of your choice.
