Ricardo A. Allen, son of Dorothy Hughes Allen and the late Charles Olden Allen, Sr., departed this life on May 6, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Ricardo was born on August 12, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Charlottesville High School. He was also a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Ricardo was an easygoing, simple man. He greatly enjoyed the simple things in life and made sure his enthusiasm of life with others. For those who had the pleasure of knowing Ricardo or ‘Rick', they knew that he truly loved his family and the company of friends. Most of all, Ricardo took pleasure in entertaining his great niece and nephews. Although Ricardo's illness became a strain on his life, he never let it take over his spirit. If you could not find him relaxing under the cherry tree singing with Otis Redding, he was making you smile with his stories about the good old days. Anyone who has had the opportunity to know or meet Rick will truly miss him. Ricardo leaves to cherish his glorious memories to his mother, Dorothy H. Allen; one brother, Charles O.
