This is my maternal Grandmother, she was married to John A. Spock to the time of his death in 1958. and never remarried.
They had 8 Children together, 4
Boys,John,JR,Michael,Stephen,Francis & 4 Girls, Anne, Mary, Helen,& Catherine (Kate) my Mother.
They lived in Larksville on Moutain Road and to us kids it was one big moutain. When we went to visit it was always called "going up home" since we lived away from that area.
Granmom Spock's house was neat, there was a "palor" were we weren't allowed to go and was curtained off.
The stairs to the upstairs also had a curtain, she had Siamese cats which she treated like her babies.
Being that we lived about 2&1/2 hours away we didn't get to see them much, this saddens me as I am sure there were many Folk remedies she could have taught me.
Having lost my younger son last year to a heart attach it has impressed on me the need to know about your family, it is important for the children that come after you to have a sense of where they came from.
