Myrtle Mae Abbey, 77, of Rosebush, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at her home in Rosebush.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Mr. Joel Studebaker officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebush.

Myrtle was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Greenville to Grant and Maude (Williams) Musser. She married Roger Abbey.

Mrs. Abbey lived in Rosebush for 47 years. She was a homemaker and active with Special Olympics, the Alliance for Special Needs, and the Community Organizations for the Handicapped.

She is survived by her children, Sonja Schutt of Mt. Pleasant, Noreen Halfmann of Coleman, Rogene Toler of Bryon, Texas, Diane Vinton of Lansing, Pamela Abbey of Rosebush, and Jeffrey Abbey of Rosebush; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Blanche Harris of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, in 1985; brothers, Bill Musser, Mason Musser, Chester Musser and Mike Musser, and sisters, Elizabeth Mangus and Martha Burgess.
