Arthur (Art) Cleveland Harding, age 95, of Trussville, Alabama (formerly of Center Point, AL) died peacefully surrounded by family on October 26, 2019.

Art was born in Trumansburg, New York on August 19, 1924, grew up in Syracuse, New York, and spent most of his life in Birmingham, Alabama.

He attended Syracuse University and LSU as part of his educational pursuits. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was a retired Captain in the United States Air Force (formerly United States Army Air Corps) after proudly serving as a Bombardier/Navigator on a B-29 in WWII and the Korean War.

He had a long career in accounting specializing in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and as a bank examiner for the State of Alabama. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for over 75 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte Baltzer Harding (1937-2018); and parents, Arthur Erwin Harding (1892-1944) & Marie Evelyn Shattell Harding (1898-1977); sister Marie Lawrence (1920-?) ; brothers John William Harding (1926-1993) and James Harding (1928-2004); and, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Harding.

He is survived by: Children – James Arthur Harding, Sandra Marie Harding Clemons, George Erwin (Noretta) Harding, Gary Charles (Lisa) Harding, Charlaine Harding (Douglas) Houston, and Arthur Cleveland Harding II Grandchildren— Jason (Beth) Harding, Alison (Jerry) Gregro, Erik (Elizabeth) Harding, Rachel Harding, Todd (Stefanie) Harding, Kayla (Jonathan) Bowman, Landon (Melissa) Houston, Paighton Houston, Jillian Houston, Evan Houston, Rubi Soberanes (Juan Rivas), & Christian Soberanes Great Grandchildren — Jackson, Nicolas, & Jenna Harding; Gianna, Dallas, & Luca Gregro; Lucas Seven, Abby and Jack Harding; Taylor Harding; Henley Houston; and, Emily, Dylan, & Nathan Rivas.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Ridout's Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Trussville, Alabama, Saturday, November 2nd at 2:30pm with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, with U.S. Military Honors.
