East Prairie - Alva M. Nelson, 86 years old, of Northlake, Illinois, formerly of East Prairie, died Monday in a Northlake hospital.
He was born August 7, 1889, at Anna, Illinois.
He was married to the former Miss Mary Catherine Rainbolt, who preceded him in death.
Surviving is son, Ophus Nelson, daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Page, Mrs. Mary Ellen Cummins and Mrs. Alma Grace Wilson; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home here.
Burial will be in the Miner Baptist Cemetery.
