Andrew G. Bartko Sr., 87, of McKeesport, died Monday, July 14, 2008, in UPMC McKeesport. He was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Glassport, the son of the late George and Mary Simko Bartko. He was a member and usher of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, McKeesport, and was also a member of the Seniors League and Mixed Doubles League at Great Valley Bowl. He was a retired ladle man for the former Bucyrus-Erie Foundry with 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Ann Rusinko Bartko; son, Andrew G. (Elaine) Bartko Jr., of New Port Richey, Fla.; daughter, Darlene (Harry) Heilman, of Greenock; daughter-in-law, Janice Buchwalter, of Michigan City, Ind.; grandchildren, Andrew, Gary and Robert Bartko, Kelly Estok, Jennifer Gallagher, Danett Fahr and Lisa Bailey and Robyn and Emily Heilman; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bartko, who died Oct. 21, 1975. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Voss as celebrant. Interment will follow in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
