Dixie Lee Able, 77, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2019 at the home of her son in Orem, Utah, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 22, 1942 in Whidbey, Washington, the daughter of Marvin Able and Winnie Lawson Able.

Her family later moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico where she spent her childhood.

She later married Charles Lemmons, with whom she had three children.

They were later divorced.

She then married Dean Black, with whom she had two children.

They were later divorced.

One of her favorite things to do as a child was to visit the Carlsbad Caverns, where she grew up.

She was avid about antiquing.

She loved collecting an array of items from old pictures to furniture, which covered every square inch of her home.

She loved clothes, shoes, and jewelry from every era.

Her most prized possessions however, were her children and grandchildren.

She often said “I love my family fiercely”.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She loved her Savior and delighted in knowing families can be together forever.

She is survived by her children

Charles Lemmons;

Kerry Lemmons;

Jason (Debbie) Black;

Sean (Roshelle) Black;

8 grandchildren

and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Able, and her daughter Valerie Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Orem Sunset 7th Ward, 1260 South 400 West Orem, Utah.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the church on Friday, prior to the services.

Interment at the Orem Cemetery.
