He retired from U. S. Steel after 34 years. He continued his desire to work with the Lake County Election Board until the time of his passing. Booker was a faithful and dedicated Elder of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and sons Eric and Nolan.
He leaves to cherish his memories, loving wife of 61 years, Mary Josephine; children Arrie Richardson (Melinda), Brenda, Benita (Michael) Nicks, Craig (Dr. Tanya) Richardson, Deblyn Vinson; sisters Yvonne Sanders, Betty Jean Davis, Elaine (Carl) Glenn; and beloved extended family.
