OBITUARY

On January 10th., 1922, at midnight. the Death Angel visited the home of W. D. Thompson and called him away to his final resting place He was born in the year of 1868 and was married to Ada Lankford February 22, 1894, joined Siloam church at an early age and was a true Christian until his death. He was sick only thirteen days with pneumonia, and suffered intensely, but when the time came for him to go, he was ready and willing. Just as the last breath passed he could not say anything but bid them all good-bye with a smile on his face. It is so sad to give up any of our loved ones, but we must endure all these dark shadows of life. Weep not, dear friends, or he is at rest. Our Father says "Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted," So we must be satisfled (sic satisfied) with His works, for His will, will be done and not ours. He leaves a comion, two sons and a daughter, also three brothers, a sister and an aged father to mourn his death, besides a host of relatives and friends.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in thathome , which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given,
And though the body moulders in the tomb,
The soul is safe in heaven.
His body was laid to rest in Siliam (sic Siloam) cemetery and funeral services conducted by Rev. Daniel Moulder.
