She graduated from Cornell University Class of 1952 where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English. In 1955 she married Clinton Nangle in Manhattan, New York City, New York. She was a member of the League of Women Voters in Hamilton, MA, and enjoyed traveling abroad, reading and socializing. She co-owned The Anchorage consignment store in Newburyport, MA.
Survivors include her daughter, Dana Nangle Scott and her husband Hilliard John Scott of Simsbury; three sons, John B. Nangle of Amesbury, MA, Clinton E. “Gene” Nangle of Newburyport, MA, and Theodric E. “Rod” Nangle and his wife Elizabeth Walker Nangle of Wellesley Hills, MA; and three grandchildren, Sam A. Scott of Simsbury, and Jacob A. and Joshua M. Nangle, both of Wellesley Hills, MA.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life was held 24 January 2015, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville, CT. Another Memorial Service was held for her in the Spring of 2016 in Newburyport, MA. A third Memorial Service was held in her hometown of Weston, West Virginia, in July 2016.
Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (“JDRF”).
