He was born in Alexandria, Va. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked in law enforcement and for the U.S. Department of Justice.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Bonamarte. Mr.Bonamarte was the last of a set of triplets, brother Wayne Harrison Bonamarte and sister Prudence Bonamarte.
Mr. Bonamarte is survived by his wife of 43 years, Wanda F. Bonamarte of the residence; father, Robert Francis Bonamarte Jr. of Mishawaka, Ind.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Francis IV and Joy Bonamarte of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Jane and Greg Crowder of Valdese, N.C.
Grandchildren, Jonathan Robert and Brandon Cole Bonamarte.
Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Karen Nolen of Granger, Ind., and Linda Bonamarte Guy of Woodstock, GA; nieces, Julie Bonamarte of Boone, Iowa, and Jodi Magallenes of Goshen, Ind.; and a buddy, Dan Snyder of Mishawaka.
The family and friends gathered to celebrate the life of Mr. Bonamarte on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home on Melrose Dr. in Dalton, GA.
Inurnment was in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
