Dorothy Jean Brock was delivered by Santa on December 24, 1931 to Archibald and Gerda Zwahlen in Sherman City, Kansas. She as the fifth of seven children. She graduated from West Mineral High School in 1949. She married in 1949 and the best thing that came out of that marriage were her four children, three grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Dorothy led a full life and happy life. She proved that big things do in fact come in small packages. You would have never known she was only 4'10" in height, because she approached life as if she were 10 feet tall and bullet proof. While her kids were young she worked as a nurse's aide at Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, KS and the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, KS. In 1974 she was employed by Eagle Picher Industries in Joplin, MO where she worked for 25 years and retired in 1999.

She married George Brock in 1984. They resided in Galena, KS until his passing in 2003.

In 2005 at the age of 73, she decided it was time for something new and went to work at Silver Dollar City with the hopes of becoming a dancer in the saloon show. Since that didn't work out, she found her niche in the Silver Dollar City bakery, where she worked for 10 years.

At the age of 84, her lovely children said she could finally retire as long as she could support her love of casino hopping and addiction to sweets.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, four brothers, one sister, daughter-in- law, Sally Allen and her son Mike Allen.

She is survived by brother Jerroll Zwahlen of Tulsa, OK; three of her children, son Steve Allen of Springfield, MO, daughter Patty Sutton and husband Mark of Wagoner, OK, daughter Kathy Denny and husband Don of Columbus, KS; three grandchildren, Corrie Fenscke and husband Brad, Casey Sutton and Haleigh Denny; two great-granddaughters Kallie and Kenna Fenscke; two sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner.
