Died, Sunday, December 10, at 4 o'clock p.m., at her late residence, Mrs. Frederika Kraus, aged 82 years. Mrs. Kraus was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, and came to Springfield thirty-six years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss her son, John G. Kraus of West Springfield, and four grand children - August Claus and Jennie Wilkinson of this city, Louisa Snyder of Mt. Pulaski and Charles Hailer of Tabor, Ia.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday at North Fourth street. The interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 12-11-1893

Note: her son John spelled his surname as Krous and it is inscribed that way on his large monument in Block 7. Her husband Casper is also buried in Block 7 with her son, after being moved there in 1895 from Block 2. John was originally buried in Block 14 with his mother Friedericka and sister Louisa but they were not moved when John and Casper were.
