Hanna Hirschman

Hanna Kellogg Hirschman, 92, of Munson Avenue, Traverse city, formerly of Battle Creek, died Tuesday afternoon after a long illness at Geriatric Village in Traverse City.

Born Hanna Christians in Sweden on Feb. 17, 1883, at the age of 16 she moved with her three sisters to the United States. In 1903 she married John L. Kellogg, sone of Kellogg Co. founder W. K. Kellogg.

She later moved to Detroit where she married Louis Hirschman, M. D. in 1936. The couple resided in Detroit until 1950, when they moved to their summer home in Traverse City.

She was an avid horsewoman.

Both husbands preceded her in death, also one son, John Kellogg; three sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by one son, W. Keith Kellogg II of Lake San Marcos, Calif.; two grandsons, William K. Kellogg III of Wilmette, Ill. and John Kellogg of San Francisco, Calif.; one granddaughter, Mrs. John Paul (Joanne) Denton of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A private service for the family will be held at a later date in Evanston, Entombment will take place in the family crypt at Memorial Park Cemetery, Evanston.

Contributions in memory of Mrs. Hirschman may be directed to Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.

Funeral arrangements were made with the Hibbard Funeral Chapel, Traverse City.
