Unnamed, undated newspaper article posted on findagrave.com website:
Probably from the Gazette & Bulletin newspaper in Nov/Dec 2009:

Carrie Madeline Frye, 89, formerly of Muncy and Hughesville, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 surrounded by her family at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Born October 10, 1920 in Franklin Twp. near Lairdsville, she was a daughter and one of nine children of Oscar L. and Blanche N. Craig Shaner.

She attended Frenchtown one-room school and graduated from Hughesville High School in 1939 with 35 other classmates. She attended her 60th class reunion in 1999.

Carrie was married Dec. 31, 1941 to Edward H. Bordy. They were married 34 years at the time of his death in 1976. In 1984, Carrie married Max D. Frye. They were married 11 years at the time of his death following an accident in 1995.

Carrie lived on Academy Street, Hughesville for 31 years and Pepper Street, Muncy for 11 years. During those 11 years, her winters were spent in Florida. A few years after Max's death, she moved to The Meadows Assisted Living, then Elmcroft Assisted Living, and finally to Valley View. Her family is grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care she received at each facility.

Carrie attended several area churches through the years: Trinity Lutheran Church and The Friends Church, both in Hughesville, First United Methodist Church, Muncy and Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery.

She was a homemaker most of her life and later was a nurses' aide and retired from Leader Nursing Home (now Manor Care), Williamsport.

Carrie enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and had a real green thumb when it came to her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed listening and singing hymns. Music was a great comfort to her. Her favorite times were spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, Edward R. (Nancy) Bordy, Williamsport; two daughters, Elaine (George) Doyle, Pennsdale and Susan (Paul) Lange, Hughesville; four brothers, Archie, South Williamsport, Carl (Margaret) Shaner, Muncy, Harland Shaner, Hughesville and Paul (Donna) Shaner, Hughesville; two sisters, Mary Peters, Williamsport and Sarah (Harland) Harman, Hughesville; 23 nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Matthew Doyle, Kerry Rodriguez, Heather Hummel, Lisa Wilson and Nathan Bordy; five great-grandchildren, James, 7, Liam, 2, Cyrus, 1, Mason, 1 and Elias, four months; step-sons, Wayne (Martie) Frye, Vestal, N.Y. and Marshal (Debbie) Frye, Muncy; eight step-grandchildren, Shelli, Kevin, Jennifer, Dawn, Valerie, Matthew, Jeff and Jill; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by two brothers, Verus and Arthur Shaner; and a step-daughter Wanda Pauling.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Rob McKenzie of Bible Baptist Church, Huntersville and her brother, Paul Shaner co-officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
