Mrs. Abraham, 89, of Lake City, died Thursday (July 12, 2007) at the Lake City Hospital.
Lucille Bernice Moechnig was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Millville. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1935 then attended business college in the Twin Cities. She married Hollace Abraham on May 30, 1938, at St. John's Lutheran Church. They owned and operated Abraham Hardware. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was active in various church activities. She was also a member of the Lake City Country Club and volunteered for the hospital auxiliary, Telecare at Lake City Hospital, and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, sewing, golf, fishing, gardening, playing bridge and walking.
Survivors include three daughters, Marcia (Maurice) Jablonske of Red Wing, Rosalie (Jerry) Wiebusch of Louisville, Ky., and Joanne Eggenberger of Oconomowoc, Wis.; a son, Jim (Gail) of Le Sueur, Minn.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Bremer of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 6, 1994, a daughter, three sisters, and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City, and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the church or the Alzheimer's Association.
