LIVED IN AKRON 93 YEARS; IS DEAD

Mrs. Antoinette McNaughton, Pioneer of City, Passes Away

Mrs. Antoinette McNaughton, 110 Kirkwood st., one of Akron's oldest inhabitants, died at her home home Friday night at 8 o'clock after an illness of a few weeks. She was 93 years old, and had lived in Akron all her life.

She is survived by one daughter, Lucy, and two sons Fred and James. Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock and burial will take place in Glendale cemetery.

Mrs. McNaughton's father, Charles Brown, came to Akron before that name had been given the settlement. He came from Connecticut, making the journey from Pittsburgh in wagons and with yokes of oxen.

Mrs. McNaughton was known to all the city's oldest residents. She was a member of the Universalist church for many years, and, until old age prevented her activities, was an energetic worker.

She was the last of Charles Brown's children to die. She had several brothers and sisters but all preceded her in death.
