EL GRANADA - John Garland Barnes, a building contractor who had resided in El Granada for 15 years, died there August 2, at the age of 77. A native of North Carolina, he had resided in San Carlos for 12 years before moving to the coastside community.
He is survived by his wife, Annie; four sons, James Barnes and William H. Barnes of El Granada, Jack Barnes of Mountain View and William B. Barnes of North Carolina; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Butterfield of El Granada and Mrs. Edith Kendrick of East Bend; a brother and five sisters in North Carolina; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held August 4, at the Dutra-Randleman Funeral Home, Half Moon Bay, with private interment at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo.
