Funeral services for Lee L. Johnson, 60, of Pitkin will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday,
July 12 at the Apostolic Church in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Lone Star
Cemetery in the Lone Star Community, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral
Home.Visitation will be held from noon today, July 11, until the time of the service
at the church.
Mr. Johnson passed away Monday, July 9, 2007. He was born in Pitkin but lived most
of his life in DeRidder. Employed as a Deputy Sheriff in Vernon Parish for the past
six years, and formerly employed as Deputy Sheriff in Beauregard Parish for 18
years. He is a graduate of East Beauregard High School in Dry Creek, a member of
Three Pine Apostolic Church in DeRidder and a member of the Louisiana Sheriff's
Association. He is survived by his wife Barbara Johnson of DeRidder; sons, Dewayne
Walley of West Plains, Mo., Eric Johnson of DeRidder and Troy Blackmon, Jr., of
DeRidder; daughters, Anita Richardson of DeRidder, Crystal Norris of Madisonville,
Tenn., and Melinda Walley of DeRidder; brothers, Leland Johnson of Pitkin, Leonard
Johnson of Pitkin and Pete Johnson of Pitkin; sister, Leola Green of Dry Creek;
mother, Ara Marie Johnson of Pitkin and 14 grandchildren.
