Frances Louise Hobson was born April 13, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Albert and Mary Williams Hobson. She grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas and later resided in Plattsburg, Kansas City, and Leavenworth, Kansas prior to moving to Warrensburg in 1980. She was united in marriage to Jesse Collins on September 20, 1980 in Warrensburg. She was a member of Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church. She loved traveling, embroidering, reading, baking, cooking and collecting dolls and music boxes. Survivors include her husband, Jesse of the home; two stepdaughters: Karen Levine of Warrensburg; Mary Roberson and her husband, Willie, also of Warrensburg; daughter-in-law, Gladys Collins of Richmond, Missouri; two stepsons: Morris Collins and his wife, Loretta of Warrensburg and Mike Collins and his wife, Brenda, also of Warrensburg; a sister, Lula Day of Leavenworth; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and three special nieces: Ingrid Frey; Glynnis Thatch and Laraine Geathers. Frances was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Bingham Collins and a stepson, Jesse Collins, Jr.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Warrensburg with Elder Frank Geathers & Bishop Harry Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Collins, Tony Frey, Kevin Collins, Robert Thatch, Seth Collins and Ronelle Watts. Honorary Pallbearer will be Oliver Wilbert.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. Visitation will resume Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to service.
