RHODA OCHSER GOLDBERG
1934 - 2007

Rhoda Ochser Goldberg of Pensacola, Florida formerly of Dix Hills, New York, passed away after a long illness on July 14, 2007.
Mother of Jacqui and Matt O'Connell of Pensacola, Alan and Jackie Goldberg of New York City, grandmother of Jason, Ryan, Emily Rose and Samuel George. Sister of Anita and Philip Miller. Wife of the late George Sundick Goldberg, with whom she shared forty years of marriage.
Mom was an art teacher by trade and later became a leading authority on needlecrafts and the best-selling author of seven books on various needle arts. She taught extensively in New York prior to moving to Florida. Mom was an incredibly involved parent, from PTA president to Cub Scout and Brownie leader. Prior to her illness, she loved getting together with her stitching groups and going out to restaurants. Moving to Florida gave her the chance to be near family on a day-to-day basis and have new special friends in her grandsons Jason and Ryan.
Mom spent her last days at Covenant Hospice and her family, with deep gratitude, wishes to acknowledge the compassion and loving care she received during her short time there.
Her grandson Ryan began therapeutic horseback riding four years ago at the Leaning Post Ranch and has gone on to be a two-time Special Olympics gold medalist. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mom's honor to Panhandle Youth Assistance Program, Inc., 4150 Cedar Springs, Molino, Fl 32577
Funeral services will be held in New York on July 17, 2007 at New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y.
A memorial service in Pensacola will follow at a later date.
You will be truly, sorely and forever missed.
