In Memory of
LEE ROY AALDERINK
JANUARY 23, 1938 - OCTOBER 31, 2019

Lee Roy Aalderink, age 81, of Hudsonville, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019. The son of Forest & Ione (Birman) Aalderink, Lee was born on January 23, 1938 in Lake Odessa, MI.

After graduating high school, Lee went on to serve his country by joining the US Air Force. Lee among other many things, especially loved working with his hands. He was a talented woodworker and carpenter. He was a dedicated and loyal retiree of General Motors and was lovingly nicknamed "Grizz" at work because he was as big and ornery as a grizzly bear when people didn't do their jobs!

Lee was also a protector and provider at heart and always had an open hand to help his family when they were in need. He spent much of his free time hunting and fishing. He wasn't a man of many words or an eloquent speaker but he always stayed true to his beliefs and the people he loved.

Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Anna Loa Aalderink; daughter, Lee Ann Aalderink; son, Brett Aalderink; and step-son, Ashley Penn. Surviving are his children, Rafe Aalderink, Karl (Diane) Aalderink, Lee James (Stacy) Aalderink, and Michael (Jennifer) Aalderink; step-children, Christopher (MariAnne) Christman, Joseph Christman, Patrick (Tracy) Christman, Julie (Uwe) Lippmann, and Kathy Krzykwa; sister, Phyllis Lammers; Lee was very blessed with many grandchildren, 31 and counting! And also, 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please just share a memory of Lee with us by emailing at [email protected]. The memories sent will be shared at the memorial service, which will be held at The VanderLaan Room in Hager Park, 8134 28th Ave., Jenison MI on Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm. Honors will be held for Lee by the US Air Force at 6:30pm.
