Mr. Franklin (Ed) was born on November 10,1919 in Bartow County to the late C.L. and Julia Hood Franklin. His sisters and brothers are: Mary Frances, Sarah,and Sam Franklin.
Mr. Franklin met and married Eleanor Alice Hume,and together they had three sons. He is now survived by them and their wives: Charles Jr. and Helen Franklin of Griffin; Harry and Patricia Franklin of Columbus; and Stephen and Katherine Franklin of Cartersville.
Mr. Franklin worked at Lockheed in Marietta,Georgia for a number of years as a planner. He planned and designed several planes,including the C5-A which he seemed to be most proud of.
Mr. Franklin was in a bad automobile accident in December 1970 in which he sustained serious injuries,but he survived it.Almost 20 years later,in December 1990,he was killed in an automobile accident in front of his home. Both accidents were caused by drunk drivers.
He is now survived by nine grandchildren;eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
