OBITUARY:

Abner M. Bechtold, 85, a retired Armstrong employee, died Sunday evening at his residence, 528 Poplar St., after an extended illness.
He had been employed in the calendar department of Armstrong World Industries floor plant for 42 years before retiring in 1960.
He was the husband of Grace C. Bomberger Arbaugh Bechtold. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence E. Brodhecker Bechtold, in 1958. born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Harry and Mary Keener Bechtold.
Bechtold was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children, all of Lancaster: Harold E.; Paul E.; Mildred R., wife of Horace Stover; Janet B. wife of Fred Suydam; Darlene F. Kilgus; Mary E., wife of Raymond R. Snyder; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, a brother, Earl Boas, Millersville, a stepdaughter Jean, wife of Edward Boas, Landisburg; and two stepsons, Phillip Arbaugh, New Providence; and Joseph Arbaugh, Skyler, Va.; and seven step-grandchildren.
