Actress, clergyperson. She began her career under the name of LIllian Glaser as a singer entertaining troops during World War I in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was noticed by talent scouts and after the war she went East where she appeared opposite the musical comedy star DeWolf Hopper. She married Hopper in 1925, after he divorced Hedda Hopper. She had also appeared in many Gilbert and Sullivan roles and had light opera roles with an opera company in San Francisco. After her husband's death in 1935 she returned to Oakland and was active in volunteer work during World War II. She became a minister in 1953 and was named pastor of the First Church of Religious Science in Oakland, which she helped found. The church met at the Oakland City Club for many years before building a lovely edifice at 5000 Clarewood Drive in 1962. Her first marriage was to Emil H. Glaser in 1914. He died 4 years later.
