Louis was born January 16, 1935 in Gause, Texas, the son of Silvestra and Louis Moncivais, Sr. The family moved to Bryan when he was a young boy. He enlisted in the Army in 1957 and was honorably discharged in April of 1960. He and Bessie Acosta were married on November 14, 1964 and together raised their family in Bryan. Louis graduated from Texas A&M Institute of Electronic Science in 1971, and opened Moncivais Electric in 1976.
He operated his business until his retirement in 2011. After his retirement, he enjoyed going to the coffee club in the mornings and visiting with friends. Louis was an avid fan of Texas A&M Football and the Dallas Cowboys. His love for his Alma Mater; Louis never missed a Texas A&M Football game; he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Silvestra and Louis Moncivais, Sr.; two brothers, Nicholas Moncivais and John Daniel Moncivais, Sr.; and a sister, Mary Magdalene Carter. Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Bessie; sons, Mark Moncivais and wife Patsy, Jose "Bo" Moncivais and wife Lilly, Ernest "Ernie" Moncivais and wife Yvonne; loving sister, Esther Bernal and husband Joe; sister-in-law, Lucy Moncivais; and seven grandchildren.
