He was born January 3, 1942 in Little Falls the son of the late Francis and Marie (Nellis) Tompson and was educated in St. Johnsville schools.
Bill was married to the former Shirley Klock who preceded him in death.
He was last employed at Keymark in Fonda. In his younger years he worked as a farm hand for many local farms.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill found much enjoyment in fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Tompson of St. Johnsville, and several cousins.
In keeping with Bill's wished funeral services and burial at St. Johnsville Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
