HERBERT RAYMOND "HERB" LEWIS, JR.
Mr. Herb Lewis, Jr., 64, Broker/Owner of Century 21 Herb Lewis and Associates, of Decatur, Georgia passed on July 16, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Herb had been active in the Real Estate industry for more than 33 years.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he moved to California and became Regional Manager for Mulhearn Realtors managing 12 offices and co-owned 3 offices with a sales volume of over $400 million annually. He was a recognized author of many Real Estate books.
He relocated to Atlanta in 1984 and opened Century 21 Herb Lewis & Associates which was one of the largest Century 21 offices in Dekalb County, with over 115 agents at one time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Elder); his children, Tracy Lewis-Evans (Brazz), Steven (Kristi), Caijsa and Marcus; five grandchildren; surrogate mother, Ann Pitts of Los Angeles, California; one brother, Phrasel Shelton of Long Beach, California; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at The Greater Solid Rock Baptist Church, 6280 Camp Road, Riverdale, Georgia 30296 with remains placed in state at 12:00 noon. Senior Pastor Will D. Hayes III,officiating, John W. Waters, Ph.D, Senior Minister Emeritus, Eulogist.
Interment will be Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Raven Camp Cemetery, Colfax, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at the mortuary this evening (Friday) from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In
