Carl H. Hoag, age 68, of Sylvania, passed away Friday, November 19th, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loved ones, while under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio after his courageous 2-year battle with cancer. He was born April 29, 1942 to George and Marian (Holloway) Hoag, in Adrian, MI. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after his 1960 graduation from Blissfield High School and served on the U.S.S. Ault in the Mediterranian. He was a service rep for Dictaphone Corporation for over 29 years and worked for Acosta Marketing for 7 years at Toledo area Kroger stores. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patti (Andrix); their daughter, Amanda (Andrew) Schade, and their children: Marcus (age 4) and Alexandra (age 10 months), of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Allen (Colleen) Hoag; brothers-in-law, Michael (Brenda) Andrix and Thomas (Judith) Andrix, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Martha Cromberg for her loving care and support, especially over the last 2 years. Another special thanks to Angel, Jenny, and Kathy, of Hospice, who cared for Carl while he was at home. Also, thank you to all of Carl's family and friends for their thoughts, prayers, and support. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Sylvania First United Methodist Church, 7000 Erie St., Sylvania.
