Per cemetery recordsE. Jean Kropp Stringer Dorman, age 91, of Vandalia, MO passed away at 2:00 pm Monday, July 26, 2021, at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Farber Cemetery. Brother Kenny Haddock will officiate.

Jean was born on June 18, 1930, in Colby, Kansas the daughter of John and Sarah (Cousins) Kropp.

United in marriage to Harry "Rip" Stringer in Oberlin, Kansas at the Presbyterian Church in 1948. To this union was born, Vicki (Jeff) Wright, Robert (Jo Ellen) Stringer, Roger (Clare) Stringer, John (Linda) Stringer, Kathi Stringer and Patti (Richard) Sheets.

Grandchildren: Brandon (Toni) Wright, Amanda Wright, Melissa Wright, Sarah (Jake) Baumgartner, Samantha (Scott) Harness. Three step granddaughters, Kimber, Justine and Samantha. Ten great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Later in life she married Lt. Colonel Robert Dorman (Retired Army). While employed with educational institutions, she earned her college degree at William Woods University in Art History. Furthering her interest in Art she attended charcoal and sketching classes. She was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star. She received her 50 year pin at the age of 75. She was also a member of ABWA (American Business Woman's Association) and Callaway Hospital Association.

She enjoyed many hobbies including reading, crocheting, crafting activities, playing computer games, and golfing. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandkids, and great grandkids. She often would play cards, board games, softball and whiffle ball with them. She had a love for all her pets throughout her life, and enjoyed family gatherings and holidays.

After her marriage she resided in North Western Kansas for four years before settling in Farber, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Sarah Kropp; husband, Harry Stringer; husband, Robert Dorman; sister, Georgia Brown, and brother, John Kropp, a very special Aunt Marie; several cousins and one step grandchild, Justine Trower.

Pallbearers will be Jake Baumgartner, Scott Harness, Brandon Wright, Hayden Salmons, Richard Sheets and Dwight Hagar.

Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Missouri or Central Missouri Humane Society, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
