Violet Frazee
SERGEANT BLUFF -- Violet M. Frazee, 70, of Sergeant Bluff died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel, with the Rev. Rayann Burnham Cummings officiating. Burial will be in McCook Cemetery, North Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Violet was born April 10, 1932, in Jackson, Neb., the daughter of Rudy and Lenora (Davenport) Shannon. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. She lived in North Sioux City until 1990, when she moved to Danbury, Wis. She moved to Sergeant Bluff in 2001.
She married Richard Lyle Frazee on Jan. 29, 1949, in Riverside, Iowa. Mrs. Frazee was employed with Cudahey's Silver Steer, Paul's Drive Inn, Sunshine Grocery Store and McDonald's, all in Siouxland.
She was a former member of Central Baptist Church in Sioux City and also North Sioux City Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary in Danbury and the P.T.A. She also did volunteer work, enjoyed cooking, baking, games, cards and dancing.
Survivors include her husband; seven sons, Richard Jr. and his wife, Brenda Frazee of Yankton, S.D., Kenneth and his wife, Mary Frazee of Minneapolis, Minn., Dennis and his wife, Nancy Frazee of Omaha, Terry Frazee of Monument, Colo., Martin and his wife, Lavern Frazee of San Jose, Calif., Dean Frazee of Campbell, Calif., and Don and his wife, Kim Frazee of Bellevue, Neb.; four daughters and their husbands, Karen and Conrad Calsbeek of Sioux City, Bonnie and Dave Solano of Troy, Mich., Janice and John Bach of South Sioux City, and Lori and Ben Ludeking of Sioux City; a brother, Norman Jerde of the Los Angeles area; a sister, Caroline Lenhardt of the Los Angeles area; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
