She was a graduate of Limestone High School and also graduated from Husson College with an associate degree and from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor degree in education, in 1984. Mrs. Sewell was a substitute teacher in the local area for many years and was also employed at the Federation of Farmers for nearly 20 years. She was a life long and active member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, belonging to several groups at the church. She was also a member of the O.E.S. Elizabeth Chapter #108 and a member of the Republican Women.
