JAFFREY, N.H. - Genevieve Julia (LaFrenier) Jatkola, 81, formerly of Westminster, Mass., died Monday at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene after an illness. She was the wife of Matti S. Jatkola, who died in 1982. They were married in 1947. Mrs. Jatkola was born in South Ashburnham, Mass., and educated in South Ashburnham and Fitchburg, Mass. She and her family ran Dee Transportation in Westminster for more than 40 years. She lived in Jaffrey with her daughter, Barbara L. Jatkola, and her son-in-law, Charles Koch, and was a member of St. Patrick Church, Jaffrey. Besides her daughter, survivors include two sons, John W. Jatkola of South Yarmouth and Paul W. Jatkola of Ashburnham, Mass.; and five grandchildren. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St., Westminster, Mass. A funeral will be held tomorrow from the funeral home, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Outreach Program, c/o St. Patrick's Parish, 87 Main St., Jaffrey, NH 03452; or to Sight Services for Independent Living, 78 Regional Drive, Concord, NH 03301.
