She was born on August 14, 1954 in Nashua, New Hampshire, to Marilyn (Dupell) Jarest and the late John Jarest. Jackie was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and Kansas University.
Jackie was an incredibly talented and artistic individual, she was active with PMAC (Portsmouth Music and Arts Center); was a published writer; loved gardening, drawing, knitting and crocheting. She had a true love of all animals but especially her cats of which throughout her life had the opportunity to love and care for 25 of her furry friends.
Beside her father, John, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Jarest.
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn of Portsmouth; her siblings, Kim Dawson (Fred) of West Newfield, ME, Michelle Fecteau (Gerard) of Eliot, ME, Sharon Fecteau (George) of Kittery, ME and Tyrone Jarest of Portsmouth; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her service dog and companion, Wallace.
Services: A Celebratory Luncheon will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Roundabout Restaurant at the Portsmouth Traffic Cicle in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (PMAC), 973 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801 and/or to the North Hampton Animal Hospital, 83 Lafayette Road, North Hampton, NH 03862.
