Paul V. Sherman, 81, of Marion, died Tuesday evening, July 17, 2007, in Marion General Hospital.

He was born on July 19, 1925, in Zoar, the son of the late Charles and Mary Wilcox Sherman.

Paul served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the United States Army from 1954-57. While stationed in Germany, he met and married his loving wife, Else Huber, on May 19, 1956. Together, they have resided in Marion since 1957.

He was employed by J.C. Penney's in its maintenance department.
Paul treasured his time spent outdoors; whether he was fishing in Lake Erie or the Delaware and Clear Fork Reservoirs or hunting rabbit and deer. He was also a great storyteller and loved to share his hunting experiences.

He will be missed by his wife, Else; his grandson, Jason Osborn of Columbus; his granddaughter, Ryan Osborn of Grove City; great-grandson Nathaniel Peoples; two brothers; and one sister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Marie Sherman Kinzer, on April 26, 2003; four brothers; and one sister.
