He was born July 21, 1938 at Cleaveland, Oklahoma, a son of George Grover and Myrtle Ruth (Rothwell)Adsit. He was raised at Cleaveland and attended school there. Following high school, he lived in Nebraska for a short time and then moved to Skiatook, OK, where he was a propane gas salesman. He later moved to Labette City, KS, where he currently resided.
In the early 1960’s he was united in marriage to June Dietl at Plattsmouth, NE. They later divorced. He and Amy Louise (Paynter) Yarrington were united in marriage on October 8, 1990 at Miami, OK. She survives of the home.
He was Baptist and had attended First Baptist Church at Altamont. He enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: Three sons – Jerry Adsit, Jr, Cookson, OK, David Adsit, Omaha, NE, John Adsit, Weeping Water, NE; three daughters – Yvonne Marquez, Oilton, OK, Audrey Adsit-Statler, Plattsmouth, NE, Amber Imray, Branson, MO; two step-daughters – Jane Henderson, Joplin, MO, Jean Dietl, Wichita, KS; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother – Bill Adsit, Mannford, OK. He was preceded in death by three brothers – Bob, Jim and Jack Adsit and two sisters – Wanda and Myrtle.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Labette Cemetery with Reverend Greg Garrett officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family to defray expenses and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
