His parish assignments through the years included Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls, NY (1945), Buffalo Missionary Apostolate (1946), Queen of Peace Church in Buffalo (1947), St. Florian's Church in Buffalo (1949), St. Luke's Church in Buffalo (1950), Queen of Peace Church in Buffalo (1954) and St. Andrews Church in Sloan (1956).Msgr. Zak was named pastor of St. Isaac Jogues in Sherman and St. Thomas More in Ripley on Feb. 25, 1964. He then was named pastor of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Colden, NY on Sept. 4, 1966. Appointed pastor of St. Hyacinth Church in Dunkirk on June 19, 1967, he served there until his retirement on Nov. 15, 1994.
He was elevated to the rank of Reverend Monsignor in March 1981.
Surviving are his brothers, Dr. Henry, and William; a sister, Dorothy .; and several nieces and nephews.
