Anthony Peter Kriechbaum, age 56, of Crete, Illinois (formerly of Alsip, IL and Fort White, FL), passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. As a beloved husband, father, son, and coach, he will be dearly missed!

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Laura; and their six children: Stephen Kriechbaum, Felicia (Andy Kranz) Kriechbaum, Erik (Samantha) Mendez, Matthew (Christina Martinez) Mendez, Jason (Toni Formentini) Mendez, and Alexis Mendez; their grandchildren: Kera, Kylie, Zachary, Cameron, Aliana, Payton, Camden, Jameson, and Amora. He is also survived by his mother, Earlene Kriechbaum; brother, David (Sandra) Kriechbaum; and his in-laws: William and Jean Bishop; sister-in-law: Debbie Kriechbaum; and many nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kriechbaum; and his brother, Larry Kriechbaum.

Anthony was a swimming enthusiast. He also was the coach of the Steger Wildcats football team for 4 years, and also the baseball team for 2 years.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Memory Lane Funeral Home, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway (US 30), Crown Point, Indiana. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park.
